Verdict Reached in Case of Aliccia Grant’s Passing at Home Depot Parking Lot

A case that deeply impacted north Phoenix has now reached its conclusion.Stephen Dennis, 36, was sentenced to 18 years in prison after pleading guilty to second-degree murder in connection with the passing of his wife, 37-year-old Aliccia Grant. The sentencing was announced on August 18, 2025, by Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell.

The incident occurred in September 2024 at a Home Depot parking lot near Cave Creek and Cactus roads. Authorities responded after reports of a disturbance and found Grant in critical condition. In her final moments, she identified her husband as responsible. Dennis later contacted police, admitted involvement, and was taken into custody.

Grant was a respected makeup artist and entrepreneur in Arizona, working under the name Glamazon Makeup. She had more than 17 years of certification, was published globally, and was known for her artistry and creative vision. Her family described her as a loving daughter, mother, and friend. A GoFundMe campaign launched in her honor has raised more than $44,000, helping support her two children, ages nine and 15.

County Attorney Mitchell called the case “an act of betrayal by someone who should have been a source of safety,” while loved ones emphasized remembering Aliccia for her talent, kindness, and the light she brought into others’ lives.The tragedy left a lasting mark on the Phoenix community, reminding many of the importance of supporting families affected by loss.
