Donald Trump’s interest in acquiring Greenland isn’t new, but the island’s leaders have had enough.Over the weekend, Greenland saw its largest protest ever, with thousands in Nuuk chanting “Greenland belongs to the Greenlanders” and carrying signs like “Yankee go home.” Demonstrations also spread to other cities.
Greenland’s Prime Minister, Múte B. Egede, issued a firm response: “Greenland is ours. We are not for sale and never will be.”Leaders from across the political spectrum joined the protests, emphasizing national unity. With tensions rising, Greenland has made it clear—they’re standing their ground.
