After Minneapolis Tragedy, Suspect’s Mother Remains Missing as Investigation Continues

Minneapolis is mourning after a tragic shooting at Annunciation Catholic Church and School left two children dead

and 18 others injured. The attack occurred during a weekday gathering, throwing students, teachers,

and parishioners into chaos. Emergency crews rushed victims to hospitals; several remain in critical condition.

Police identified the suspect as 23-year-old Robin Westman, a former student of the school. Armed, he entered the

building and opened fire. Investigators later found writings expressing identity struggles, anger, and isolation.

Officials emphasized the probe is ongoing as they review the documents to determine possible motives.

Complicating matters, police reported they cannot locate Westman’s mother, Mary Grace Westman,

a former church employee known to the community. Her disappearance has raised concern, though no direct link

to the attack has been confirmed. Authorities are asking the public for information to aid the search.

In response, community leaders and faith groups have called for solidarity. Vigils are being planned across Minneapolis

to honor the young victims, while counselors are offering support to grieving families and parish members. Law enforcement continues

investigating the attack and the mother’s disappearance, stressing their focus remains on safety and answers for the community.
