I Tested a Natural Oven Cleaning Trick — and It Worked Better Than Expected

Most people dread cleaning the oven, especially when it means scrubbing for hours and dealing with chemical fumes. The layers of grease and burnt-on food can feel impossible to tackle, and it’s easy to put off the task. I always thought harsh sprays were the only solution, but then I discovered a much simpler method that completely changed my routine.

The secret is steam. By placing a dish of water — with a splash of vinegar, if you like — into a hot oven, the rising vapor loosens dirt and softens stubborn buildup. After letting the steam do its work, all that’s left is a gentle wipe with a cloth. No scrubbing, no coughing from fumes, and no expensive cleaners are required.

This natural approach is safe for families, pets, and anyone sensitive to strong odors. It’s also inexpensive, since water and vinegar are things most of us already have at home. What surprised me most was how effective it turned out to be, leaving the oven fresh and clean without effort.

Now, I use this method regularly. It saves time, protects my health, and keeps my kitchen free from harsh chemicals. For me, it’s proof that sometimes the simplest ideas really are the best.
