Zohran Mamdani reveals ‘weird’ object in Trump’s Oval Office that had him ‘flipping’ out

Donald Trump invited the soon-to-be Mayor of New York City, Zohran Mamdani, to the White House. Now, the 34-year-old New Yorker reveals one peculiar object Trump showed him at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

It’s safe to say that Zohran Mamdani was not Donald Trump’s favourite to win the New York City mayoral election in November. Before the election, the president even threatened to cut federal funding to his former home city if Mamdani won.

“Whether you personally like Andrew Cuomo or not, you really have no choice. You must vote for him and hope he does a fantastic job. He is capable of it, but Mamdani is not!” Trump wrote.

“If Communist Candidate Zohran Mamdani wins the Election for Mayor of New York City, it is highly unlikely that I will be contributing Federal Funds, other than the very minimum as required, to my beloved first home,” he added.

“Because of the fact that, as a Communist, this once great City has ZERO chance of success, or even survival!” he continued. “It can only get worse with a Communist at the helm, and I don’t want to send, as President, good money after bad. It is my obligation to run the Nation, and it is my strong conviction that New York City will be a Complete and Total Economic and Social Disaster should Mamdani win.”

Donald Trump & Zohran Mamdani’s White House meeting

Speaking with Fox News in June earlier this year, Trump argued that a win for Mamdani was “inconceivable” because he recognised him to be “a pure communist”.

“Let’s say this – if he does get in, I’m going to be president, and he’s going to have to do the right thing, or they’re not getting any money. He’s got to do the right thing or they’re not getting any money,” Trump said.

As Mamdani took home the victory in the mayoral election in New York City, during his victory speech, he said, “‘I know you’re watching, turn the volume up,” as a sharp remark towards the president of what is to come.

Nonetheless, last week, Zohran Mamdani was welcomed to the White House by Donald Trump. Beforehand, many believed it was a meeting that could stoke the fire further, widening the gap between the two over “The Big Apple’s” future.

However, it turned out things went well.

“We agreed a lot more than I would have thought,” Trump said in the Oval Office when meeting the press together with Mamdani.

Mandani told NBC, “It was a conversation where we spoke about the need to deliver on this agenda. We were not shy about the places of disagreement about the politics that has brought us to this moment, and we also wanted to focus on what it could look like to deliver on.”

Mamdani reveals the ‘strangest’ object Trump showed him at the White House

Now, Zohran Mamdani is back on the East Coast, preparing to be sworn in as the new Mayor of New York City. His White House visit was the first time he stepped inside the doors at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, and it was a meeting to remember.

34-year-old Mamdani was a guest on the Tuesday, November 25, episode of The Adam Friedland Show, on which he spoke about the meeting with Trump in the Oval Office. While there were many surprises, one stood out. On the show, Mamdani revealed the one thing Trump showed him that was quite strange.

“What was the weirdest thing he showed you?” host Adam Friedland asked, per the NY Post. “He had to have shown you something – one thing weird.”

Mamdani revealed that Trump gave him a tour of the Cabinet Room, where several portraits of former presidents are displayed.

“The FDR was beautiful,” Mamdani said of the image of former President Franklin D. Roosevelt. “We talked about FDR for a little bit.”

The most peculiar object, according to Mamdani, was in front of him in the waiting area of the Oval Office.

“In front of me are like, all these different coffee table books, and one of them is UFC at the White House,” Mamdani said.

“Oh yeah he’s bringing it there, right?” asked Friedland, to which Mamdani responded that he “was flipping through” the book, containing visualisations of what the octagon ring will look like on the South Lawn of the White House.

In June, the UFC is set to have a tournament on the White House grounds. It is claimed to have 5,000 spectators. According to Sports Business Journal, the UFC has pledged to spend $700,000 to replace the grass.
