Why Bad Bunny won’t be paid for his Super Bowl performance

Bad Bunny’s upcoming Super Bowl performance is the only thing many people are talking about these days. While the performance is undoubtedly going to be one to remember, the superstar performer doesn’t stand to gain monetarily from it.

Keep reading to find out more.

Bad Bunny was tapped to be the performer for the beloved halftime show for Super Bowl LX in California this coming weekend. However, something you might not know is that the singer will not be paid for this major performance.

This might seem weird, given how major the Super Bowl is and how much money it generates.

The Puerto Rican-American singer is not everyone’s favorite, with President Donald Trump going on the record as saying he is not a fan.

Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, is going to be the first Spanish-speaking artist to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show. Millions of people from around North America and beyond will be watching the artist perform live.

While there will be millions of viewers, the artist himself will not be paid for the mega performance. This is because it is a rule for everyone who performs as the main act at the Super Bowl halftime show.

However, artists are usually honored to be tapped to perform at the mega event because of the massive exposure they get from it.

While the NFL does not pay the artist a large sum, it still makes a small union-mandated payment. But the usual fees that the artists who perform demand are millions, which they forego for the event.

The NFL covers all production costs, which can sometimes be around $10 million.

The massive reach the performance will have is considered appropriate in lieu of a monetary payment. The exposure Bad Bunny will get from the big stage he is going to perform on will far exceed any payment he could have received otherwise.

What do you think of this rule from the NFL? Let us know in the comments below. And let us know whether you will be watching the Super Bowl and the highly anticipated halftime performance.
