59-year-old actress from Sex and the City made the announcement on her Instagram account on Monday, November 18, revealing her father had passed away “recently” after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. After the family had the opportunity to gather together and honor his life, she broke the news of his passing on social media.

According to Davis, who wrote about the “beautiful celebration” that also featured a jazz band, “My Dad passed away recently, and the family gathered for the celebration of his life that he had left detailed instructions for,” Davis provided the following description of the event.

As she proceeded, she added, “We all learned new things about him because he led an extraordinary life.” Her father, who was “born in a cabin on a river” in North Carolina, was the subject of her further explanation.

Davis asserts that Atkinson’s enthusiasm for his work was the driving force behind his decision to “give speeches all over the world about his research in psychology.”

His passion for teaching was so strong that he was born to be a teacher. According to the actress, “He was brilliant and bright, and people loved him.” This statement was made before she disclosed facts regarding his condition.

She described Parkinson’s disease as “a brain disorder that causes unintended or uncontrollable movements, such as shaking, stiffness, and difficulty with balance and coordination,” and she stated that the disease has been a part of his life for the last 10 years. Parkinson’s disease is characterized by a progression of symptoms that worsen with time. according to the National Institute on Aging, including difficulties walking and maintaining a conversation.

In addition to expressing gratitude to “his doctors and nurses and home health care” for their assistance, the actress from Cash Out emphasized the “devotion” that her mother showed to her father when he was discovered to have a terminal illness.

Davis continued by saying, “I am immensely thankful for the support he received and the perseverance he displayed in the face of a very real and challenging struggle.”

Towards the end of her message, she wrote, “Thinking of our entire family, and especially my mother.” We are very thankful to you, dad, for lightening up our lives and leaving us with a great deal of love and affection.
