I Knew There Was Big Trouble”
McLean’s longtime friend and acting coach Jeff Seymour said he immediately feared something was wrong when the actor failed to appear for a scheduled filming session. Seymour described McLean as careful, reliable, and highly professional, making his sudden absence feel deeply out of character.
was meticulous about everything, and there would be no chance he blew it off or slept too late,” Seymour told The Canadian Press, according to PEOPLE. “As soon as I heard he didn’t make it on Saturday morning, I knew there was big trouble.” (People.com)
Seymour also said McLean had visited him in Los Angeles the month before his death and that they had spent a wonderful week together. He remembered his friend as thoughtful, aware of his surroundings, and deeply respected by those who knew him.
“It just doesn’t make any sense,” Seymour said. “He was incredibly situationally aware.”
