Prior to the meeting, U.S. President Donald Trump denied calling Zelenski a “dictator.”
Asked to comment on the situation, Trump replied, “Did I say that? I don’t believe I did.”
Reports from France indicate that Trump was initially reluctant to meet Zelenski but was persuaded to do so diplomatically by his “friend,” French President Emmanuel Macron.
