Student Breaks Silence After Charlie Kirk’s Final Words Were Directed at Them During Utah Shooting

The assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, 31, during a Turning Point USA debate at Utah Valley

University shocked the nation. Kirk was shot from the roof of the Losee Center while responding

to student Hunter Kozak’s question on gun violence. Panic followed as Kirk fell, struck fatally in the neck.

Kozak, a UVU mathematics student and father of two, later broke his silence in a video. Visibly shaken,

he condemned the violence and reflected on the tragedy as a father. “A father doesn’t have his kid anymore,”

he said, comparing Kirk’s young children with his own. He also rebuked those celebrating Kirk’s death online:

“If you are salivating about what happened… you are not part of what I am trying to build.”

Authorities say the shooter used a high-powered rifle, leaving engraved messages on ammunition. Surveillance shows him

fleeing into a nearby residential area. The FBI released images of a person of interest and is urging tips, offering a $100,000 reward.

Leaders across the spectrum have condemned the attack. Utah’s governor called it a “political assassination,”

while Donald Trump ordered flags at half-staff. Kozak’s message endures: “Stay peaceful. That is the only way forward.”
