Supporters believe this measure will significantly boost the nuclear sector, with small modular reactors seen as the future of nuclear power. However, critics, like Edwin Lyman of the Union of Concerned Scientists, argue it could undermine safety by reducing regulations.The bill passed the House in a 393-13-1 vote, with some Democrats expressing opposition.
