Senate Confirms Chris Wright To Be Trump’s Energy Secretary

Chris Wright has been confirmed as President Trump’s Secretary of Energy, winning Senate approval 59-38. As CEO of Liberty Energy Inc. since 2011, Wright will help implement Trump’s pro-drilling energy agenda. On his first day, Trump declared an “energy emergency,” reversing Biden-era policies, lifting the LNG export pause, and rolling back climate regulations. Wright’s confirmation hearing emphasized his commitment to boosting U.S. energy production, infrastructure, and security. The administration aims to enhance energy independence, create jobs, and strengthen global competitiveness while reducing reliance on foreign energy. Wright’s leadership will be key in advancing policies that prioritize domestic production and economic growth.
