Second Lady Usha Vance to lead U.S. delegation to Greenland amid territorial take-over talks

U.S. Second Lady Usha Vance will visit Greenland this week amid President Donald Trump’s renewed interest in the mineral-rich territory. She departs Thursday and returns Saturday, accompanied by one of her children.

The trip includes cultural stops and attendance at Greenland’s national dogsled race, the Avannaata Qimussersu, featuring 440 sled dogs and 37 mushers. Vance’s office calls it a “remarkable display of speed, skill, and teamwork.” The delegation aims to celebrate Greenlandic unity and traditions while witnessing the race up close.
