Ryan Seacrest Reveals A Tragic Loss

Ryan Seacrest is mourning the loss of his father, Gary Lee Seacrest.

The Wheel of Fortune host shared the sad news per E!News, that his dad has passed away. Earlier this year, Ryan revealed that his father had been fighting prostate cancer for several years.

It is with a heavy heart that I share with you that my loving father peacefully passed away earlier this week,” he posted on an Instagram post. “My mom, sister and I have peace knowing he is in a better place and free of any pain or suffering.  We are heartbroken.”

Alongside his tribute, Ryan shared heartfelt family photos of his late father, Gary, surrounded by loved ones — including his wife, Constance Marie Zullinger, Ryan’s sister Meredith Seacrest, her husband Jimmy Leach, and their daughter, Flora Leach.

Gary, who was often mentioned by Ryan with love and admiration, played a major role in shaping his son’s work ethic and character. The television personality has previously spoken about their close bond and the deep respect he held for his father’s strength and perseverance.”

It is with a heavy heart that I share with you that my loving father peacefully passed away earlier this week. My mom, sister and I have peace knowing he is in a better place and free of any pain or suffering.  We are heartbroken. He was a devoted husband for 56 years, an incredible Papa to Flora, and my best friend. Dad you will live in our hearts forever. I love you.”

 

 

Gary’s death comes just months after Ryan opened up about his father’s health, revealing that he had been quietly battling prostate cancer for several years.

Ryan Seacrest is an American television and radio host, producer, and entrepreneur best known for hosting American Idol and Live with Kelly and Ryan. Born on December 24, 1974, in Atlanta, Georgia, he began his broadcasting career in radio before achieving national fame as American Idol’s host in 2002. Seacrest went on to become one of the most recognizable figures in entertainment, hosting Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve and his daily radio show, On Air with Ryan Seacrest. Behind the scenes, he’s an Emmy-winning producer through his company, Ryan Seacrest Productions, which created Keeping Up with the Kardashians and other hit reality series. Known for his polished professionalism and tireless work ethic, Seacrest has also been active in philanthropy through the Ryan Seacrest Foundation, which builds broadcast media centers in pediatric hospitals nationwide.
