Quadruple murderer Kohberger complains about prison bananas – get’s the perfect response

Most Americans already see convicted quadruple murderer Bryan Kohberger as a monster — a man capable of butchering four University of Idaho students in their sleep without a shred of remorse.

But according to new reports, the 31-year-old isn’t just a “nightmare”… he’s turning into a full-on “prison diva.”

Kohberger, who brutally murdered students Ethan Chapin, Xana Kernodle, Madison Mogen, and Kaylee Goncalves in 2022, is now locked up at the Idaho Maximum Security Institution, where he recently spent his birthday.

And instead of reflecting on the lives he destroyed, he’s reportedly busy complaining about bananas.

Complains about the food he’s getting

According to the Daily Mail, Kohberger has already filed multiple complaints since arriving at the notorious prison four months ago, but his newest gripe has guards rolling their eyes. Retired homicide detective Chris McDonough, now with the Cold Case Foundation, told the outlet:

“He’s complaining about the type of bananas he’s being served.”

McDonough said Kohberger doesn’t like the ones he’s getting, adding:

“They’re not the kind that he likes… I’m not sure if that means they may have bruises on them… But he’s complaining about the food he’s getting.”

The absurdity isn’t lost on McDonough:

“You can’t make this stuff up, right? The guy is a quadruple killer and he’s complaining about his bananas not being the type that he likes.”

Prison staff, unsurprisingly, aren’t bending over backwards for him.

“The prison is saying well, deal with it,” McDonough explained.

Not fitting in behind bars

This isn’t Kohberger’s first meltdown behind prison walls.

The Daily Mail previously reported that the former criminology PhD student instantly became a target for other inmates, who yelled, taunted, and kept him up at all hours by shouting through vents into his cell.

Kohberger quickly filed grievances, complaining that he couldn’t sleep.

Not long after, he submitted another complaint claiming inmates had threatened him with sexual abuse, including one saying he would “bitch f–k” him and another declaring “the only a– we’ll be eating is Kohberger’s.”

A hearing panel later decided he should remain separated from the general population “for the protection of staff and residents, as well as for his protection.”

Even that wasn’t enough for Kohberger, who then objected to:

  • the size of the cell
  • and its location

McDonough believes there’s a twisted mindset behind Kohberger’s behavior.

“It’s about power and control,” he said.

“He was a nobody until he murdered four people… And now he’s Bryan Kohberger who has slaughtered four people.”

McDonough added that since Kohberger avoided a public trial — thanks to his plea agreement — he thinks he still holds some kind of leverage.

“He’s going to keep pushing the envelope and pushing the boundaries as far as he can get them,” McDonough said

The crimes that put him there

Kohberger’s crimes shocked the US when he broke into a rental property in November, 2022 and stabbed Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle and Ethan Chapin to death before fleeing the scene.

He was arrested on suspicion of the murders a month later. Though to this day he has never provided a motive for the killings, Kohberger ultimately plead guilty to four counts of first-degree murder and one count of felony burglary in exchange for avoiding the death penalty.
