Man hailed as a hero

A man was described as a hero after he reportedly acted quickly when gunfire broke out during the White House Correspondents’ Dinner at the Washington Hilton.

Footage shared online showed a man believed to be a Secret Service agent reacting immediately as shots were heard.

According to accounts, he moved toward Donald Trump and positioned himself between the president and the perceived threat.

Guests in formal attire were seen taking cover under tables as security personnel responded and began evacuating the area.

Authorities later identified a suspect and reported that he had been carrying multiple weapons before being stopped by agents.

During the incident, one Secret Service officer was reportedly injured but was protected from serious harm by body armor.

Trump later praised the officer’s response and said he was recovering after the confrontation.

Investigators continue to review the incident, including possible warning signs and the suspect’s background, while comparisons have been drawn to past historical attacks at the same location.
