A father never gave up hope of finding his daughter after she was abducted. Despite six years of searching, Ryan Iskerka prayed daily for her safe return. His daughter, Kayla Unbehaun, went missing in 2017. Although Ryan had no way of knowing if she was safe, he frequently posted on social media, expressing how much he missed her.
Ryan revealed that Kayla’s non-custodial mother, Heather, had taken her without permission. After years of legal battles, Ryan was granted sole custody. Despite this, Heather abducted Kayla during a camping trip.
In May 2023, after six years, Kayla was spotted in a North Carolina shop. The store clerk recognized her and alerted the police, leading to Heather’s arrest.
Ryan expressed gratitude to everyone who kept the case alive, saying, “I’m overjoyed that Kayla is home safe.” Now, he focuses on rebuilding his relationship with Kayla, asking for privacy during this time.
