As the husband’s car pulled into the driveway, he couldn’t wait to share the news of his promotion and the surprise gift he had planned for his wife. With a smile on his face, he bounded up the steps and entered the house, eager to see her reaction.

But as he stepped inside, he was met with an unexpected sight. The house was dark and silent, devoid of the warmth and welcome he had anticipated. Confusion crept into his mind as he called out for his wife, but there was no response.
