Grandson refuses to let family put grandma in a home, becomes her full-time caretaker instead

Chris, a musician and content creator, has always dreamt of YouTube fame.

He tried various content styles, but little did he know, the key to his success was right by his side – his grandmother.

Originally from Tarlac in the Philippines, Chris and his family, including Lola, moved to the United States, bringing a piece of their homeland with them.

Lola, a former elementary school teacher in the Philippines for over two decades, is now the star of Chris’s TikTok videos, where they converse in their native “Kapampangan” dialect.

The decision to become her full-time caretaker came in 2015 when Lola was 88.

Chris knew where he stood.

Faced with the tough choice of hiring a caregiver or sending her to a home for the aged, Chris knew he had to step in.

He couldn’t bear the thought of his Lola being cared for by strangers or living in an unfamiliar place.
Chris’s dedication to his grandmother is evident in every aspect of their life together.

He understood that taking care of her would require his full attention, love, and patience, but he was more than ready for the task.

Since 2014, he has been sharing photos of his grandma, and from 2019, he started vlogging their daily activities, showcasing their incredible bond to the world.

Their vlogs are a window into their world, filled with tender moments.

From preparing Lola’s bed with the utmost care to ensuring she stays hydrated and feels loved, Chris does it all.
He doesn’t shy away from the more challenging aspects of caregiving, such as bath time preparations and changing nappies, sharing these moments with honesty and compassion.

However, it’s not always easy.

In a recent interview on a local Philippine channel, Chris opened up about the challenges they face, especially as Lola becomes more forgetful.

There are times when she doesn’t recognize him, which is heartbreaking for Chris.

Yet, he remains steadfast in his commitment, reminding us all to cherish every moment with our loved ones.

Chris’s story is a testament to the power of love and dedication.
He goes above and beyond to ensure his Lola’s comfort and happiness, a journey you can follow on their TikTok vlogs and Chris’s YouTube channel.

It’s a beautiful reminder to treasure our time with family and to care for them with all our hearts.
