“General Hospital” Star Jacklyn Zeman Passes Away At 70

Jacklyn Zeman, the actress famous for playing the role of Bobbie Spencer in the popular soap opera “General Hospital,” has passed away at the age of 70.

“Just like her character, the legendary Bobbie Spencer, she was a bright light and true professional that brought so much positive energy with her to work,” executive producer Frank Valentini said on Twitter.

“Jackie will be greatly missed, but her positive spirit will always live on with our cast and crew. We send our heartfelt sympathy to her loved ones, friends, and family, especially her daughters Cassidy and Lacey.”

According to ABC News, the actor’s family informed that she passed away after a brief struggle with cancer.

Over the course of 40 years, Zeman had a role as Nurse Spencer in more than 800 episodes of “General Hospital.” She was even nominated for a Daytime Emmy award for “Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series.”

Zeman, who grew up in New Jersey, began acting while in high school. She then went on to study dance at New York University.

Before landing her first major television role as Lana McClain on “One Life to Live,” she worked as a Playboy Bunny.

Cast members from “General Hospital” paid tribute to the iconic soap star who passed away by sharing emotional messages.

“I am heartbroken to hear this news. One of the kindest people I have ever met. My deepest condolences to her family, friends and fans,” said Kathleen Gati.

Parry Shen, the actor who portrays Brad Cooper on the show, praised Zeman as a “down-to-earth” and “absolute legend”.

“I loved hearing her stories about the show in the 70s & 80s,” Shen stated. “Always so kind & down to earth. You will be so missed, Jackie. Condolences to her daughters, family & legions of fans who have loved Bobbie Spencer for decades.”

Cassidy and Lacey are the two children who survived her.
