Former NBA player Oliver Miller, known for his strong presence on the court,
has passed away at the age of 54. Miller, a standout at Arkansas from 1988 to 1992,
was affectionately called “The Big O” for his imposing physique. He played for several
teams during his nine-year career, including the Detroit Pistons, Phoenix Suns, and Toronto Raptors.
His passing has left the basketball community in mourning, with tributes pouring in from former teammates
and organizations. NBA legend Edward ‘Eddie’ Arnet Johnson shared the news on X, expressing sadness
over the loss, and the National Basketball Retired Players Association honored Miller’s legacy, calling him a legend.
Miller was an integral part of the 1990 Arkansas Razorbacks Final Four team and later became a first-round
NBA draft pick. His former teams, including the Suns and Raptors, posted heartfelt tributes to his contributions
to the game. After retiring, Miller cherished time with his family, particularly his grandchildren. He often shared
moments with them on social media, including a 2022 selfie with his grandsons. The cause of his death
has not been disclosed, but his memory lives on in the hearts of fans and loved ones.
