Every celebrity who has accused Katy Perry of assault

Serious allegations involving Katy Perry are resurfacing after Ruby Rose publicly accused the singer of assault, drawing renewed attention to past claims from several celebrities.

For years, Katy Perry, 41, has ranked among the most commercially successful artists in modern pop, with hits like “Roar,” and “I Kissed a Girl” helping build a global profile that stretches beyond music into television, fashion, and entertainment.

But following an explosive comment from Ruby Rose on April 12, attention quickly shifted away from chart success and toward a series of resurfaced allegations, interviews, and public claims involving other celebrities, some dating back more than a decade.

‘She wasn’t a good person’

The current controversy started on April 12, when Australian actor Ruby Rose left a pointed response beneath a Complex Music social media post discussing Justin Bieber’s Coachella performance.

After criticizing Bieber’s set, Perry – who was at the event with her boyfriend, former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau – triggered a response from Rose.

“Katy Perry assaulted me at Spice Market nightclub in Melbourne. Who gives a s**t what she thinks,” Rose wrote, according to People.

The Orange is the New Black star further explained that she was in her “early 20s” at the time of the alleged incident with the singer, and that “It has taken almost 2 decades to say this publicly.”

“Though I am so grateful to have made it long enough to find my voice, it just shows how much of an impact trauma and sexual assault takes,” she wrote, adding, “So I kept it a secret. But I did tell ya’ll she wasn’t a good person.”

Representatives for Perry strongly denied the allegation, calling it “categorically false” and describing the claims as “dangerous, reckless lies.”

‘Finger banged’ at the Grammys

As news of the investigation spread, older celebrity interviews involving Perry quickly resurfaced online, including a 2014 appearance by Anna Kendrick on Conan that is now being discussed in a different light.

During the interview, the star of the Pitch Perfect franchise described what she called “a crazy night” at the Grammy Awards, where the “I Kissed a Girl” singer touched her in an “aggressive” way – an interaction that she framed as humorous.

“Katy Perry finger-banged my cleavage. It was a weird night,” Kendrick, 40, joked. “Well, my dress, I was kind of asking for it…If nobody had done it, I would have been a little sad.”

At the time, the story drew laughter from the studio audience and was widely interpreted as a comedic celebrity anecdote typical of late-night television appearances.

The ‘Teenage Dream’

Actor Josh Kloss, who appeared alongside Perry in the “Teenage Dream” music video, publicly shared allegations about the singer in 2019 during the height of the #MeToo movement.

Kloss described feeling “pathetic and embarrassed” during an alleged incident at a birthday party where he claimed Perry exposed him without consent in front of others.

“When I saw her, we hugged and she was still my crush. But as I turned to introduce my friend, she pulled my Adidas sweats and underwear out as far as she could to show a couple of her guy friends and the crowd around us my penis,” Kloss wrote on Instagram, according to Sydney Criminal Lawyers.

“Can you imagine how pathetic and embarrassed I felt?” he continued. “I just say this now because our culture is set on proving men of power are perverse. But females with power are just as disgusting.”

Tried to kiss a girl

Russian television presenter Tina Kandelaki also publicly described an encounter with Perry that she said occurred at a private event, according to Page Six.

“Once I was invited to a private party with Katy Perry, where she, being pretty tipsy, chose me as an object for the manifestation of her passion,” Kandelaki said of the singer, who allegedly tried to kiss her.

“I managed to fight back, strength training was not in vain, and Katy instantly found a new victim for kisses, hugs and dirty dances.”

Perry kissed a teen

One of the most widely discussed moments involving Perry aired on national television in 2018 during an audition for American Idol.

While on stage, 19-year-old contestant Benjamin Glaze revealed to the judges that he had never been kissed. As the panel reacted, Perry invited him closer, and kissed the teenager on the lips, catching him off guard.

Glaze immediately fell backward in surprise as Perry celebrated the moment with fellow judges, saying: “Yeah, I got him.”

Speaking with the New York Times, Glaze explained that the experience left him “uncomfortable” because he wanted to “save” his first kiss for someone “special.”

“I wanted to save it for my first relationship. I wanted it to be special,” he told the outlet.

Despite expressing discomfort, Glaze clarified that he did not consider the moment to be sexual harassment and later wrote on social media that he was “not complaining about the kiss,” adding “I do not think I was sexually harassed by Katy Perry.”

In September 2025, Fox 23 reports that Glaze – who “confessed to to a child pornography addiction” – was sentenced to 25 years for possessing child sex abuse material.

Accused of ‘mom-shaming’

Another moment involving Perry on American Idol drew attention for a different reason, contributing to wider discussion about her conduct as a woman.

Sara Beth Liebe, a 25-year-old mother of three, appeared on the show and later described feeling embarrassed by comments made about her age and motherhood.

During the audition, Perry reacted dramatically when Liebe shared that she had children, playfully falling onto the table in exaggerated shock.

“Honey, you’ve been laying on the table too much,” Perry said after Liebe’s performance.

As Liebe decided to leave the competition, Perry addressed her directly from the judges’ table, saying: “I also know that it’s easier to walk away than to be rejected.”

Responding to that moment, Liebe later said in a social media post that “It was embarrassing to have that on TV, and it was hurtful.”

“I think that women supporting and uplifting other women is so cool and I think that mom-shaming is super lame, and I think that it’s hard enough to be a mom and it’s hard enough to be a woman,” Liebe said, per People
