So much is happening with the Trump family that it’s hard to keep up.

Back in early October, Eric Trump made a statement that’s still making waves.

In a shocking and fiery television appearance, he has accused political adversaries of attempting to orchestrate a “divorce” between his father, President Donald Trump, and Melania Trump.

The claims have reignited speculation about the First Couple’s relationship, which has long been under the public microscope.

The Helicopter incident

Just weeks ago, a viral video appeared to show tension between Donald and Melania aboard Marine One as it landed on the White House South Lawn. Many online viewers interpreted the footage as a marital spat, with Trump pointing his finger and Melania shaking her head.

However, forensic lip readers later clarified that the conversation was about the “escalator-gate” incident at the United Nations, where a malfunctioning escalator nearly caused a mishap during the couple’s appearance at the UN General Assembly.

Despite the brief tension, the couple was seen walking hand in hand shortly after, projecting a united front. But there’s no doubt that the question of their relationship status is something both they and their family have to reckon with.

Eric Trump speaks out

During an appearance on Newsmax’s Rob Schmitt Tonight, Eric Trump went on the offensive, defending his father against ongoing legal and political attacks.

“They came after me like I was a dog,” Eric said.

“They tried to impeach my father two times. They went after him for a Russia hoax that did not exist, which was paid for by Hillary Clinton. The FBI and DOJ spied on my father’s campaign. They de-platformed him. They weaponized every attorney general and every district attorney around the country. They indicted him 91 times – 34 times in a bogus trial in New York City. They posted his mugshot…even though they didn’t need to, which totally backfired.”

Eric continued, turning the spotlight onto his family’s private life.

“They raided his home. They raided Mar-a-Lago. They tried to get him divorced; they tried to separate our family. They tried to go after our employees. They attacked us. They tried to bankrupt our company. They de-platformed us, they stripped every bank account away from me and the Trump Organization that you can imagine, and Merrick Garland was at the forefront of all of it, and Joe Biden was at the forefront of all of it when they raided our home, when they raided Mar-a-Lago, when they raided Melania’s closet. When they raided 16-year-old Barron’s room.”

Divorce allegations

The most startling claim from Eric centered on what he described as external attempts to “divide a marriage.”

A source close to Eric told Daily Mail that the statement was connected to Christopher Steele’s infamous Russian dossier, which alleged inappropriate behavior by Donald Trump during visits to Russia, allegations Trump has consistently denied.

“When they talk about golden showers in their paid-for-fake-dossier, paid for by Hillary Clinton, you better believe their intent is to divide a marriage,” Eric said.

The Mar-a-Lago raid

Eric’s comments also referenced the 2022 FBI raid of the Trump family’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida. Authorities seized 33 boxes of documents as part of an investigation into the handling of classified presidential records.

Trump called the investigation politically motivated, and Melania publicly described the raid as an “invasion of privacy.”

“The way it was done was — I was really surprised,” she said in a September 2024 interview. “I saw unpleasant stuff that nobody wants to see. And you get angry because, you know, nobody should be putting up with that kind of stuff. Some person — I don’t even know how many people — went through my stuff.”

A family under siege

Eric Trump’s claims mark one of the most direct public acknowledgments of pressures allegedly placed on the Trump family’s marriage.

While no evidence has been presented to substantiate the divorce allegation, the statement adds another dramatic twist to the saga of the President’s legal and political battles, and the public scrutiny of his private life.
