Donald Trump has been a father for many years. He has four children with three different women, with Barron Trump being his youngest at 19 years of age. He was born in 2006, but when Melania told her husband she was pregnant, she didn’t get the response she expected from Donald.

Barron Trump’s childhood was filled with luxury. Born in 2006, the year after his parents got married, he was allowed to paint on the walls of his floor at Trump Tower and got pretty much anything he pointed at. Meanwhile, his mother, Melania, coming from a working-class background, wanted to give him something else in life, too.

In her memoir, Melania wrote about a “chaotic” scene at her home office when Barron was young, with his books spread out “all over the floor” and the young boy sitting in a toy car. In a Fox interview, the First Lady stated that it was important for her to show Barron what an ordinary day in her working life could look like.

“I think it’s very important that we show our children that we are working too. To give them an example [of] how life is,” she said. “That they see us, that we are productive, that we have ideas, that ideas come to life. And that’s how I was showing Barron.”

Donald Trump was married twice before he married Melania in 2005. His marriage to Ivana Trump lasted from 1977 to 1990, and the president’s second marriage to Marla Maples lasted five years.

With Ivana, Trump welcomed three children, Ivanka, Donald Jr, and Eric, and with Marla Maples, one daughter, Tiffany Trump. Barron is the youngest of Donald’s children, but if he had decided, there would have been more additions to the family.

How Donald Trump reacted to the news that Melania was pregnant with Barron

Speaking with Fox and Friends last year, Melania revealed that Donald wanted more children after Barron was born. Meanwhile, Melania was pleased with just one.

“I was always perfectly fine with one. And Donald was encouraging [us] to have more,” Melania recalled. “And I said, like, ‘I’m completely fine with one because it’s [a] very busy life.’”

Barron Trump is Melania’s first and only child. One can only imagine her joy when she found out she was expecting, and of course, she wanted to tell the father, Donald, as quickly as possible. The now-first lady received the news about six months after their wedding, but Melania didn’t get the reaction she expected.

Speaking to People, the Slovenian-born model stated that Donald Trump was a bit shocked that she was pregnant.

“He came home and I told him he’d be a daddy. And his reaction was … at first he needed to take it in. It was a real surprise. And then he was very happy,” she told People back then.

Donald added, “I expected we were going to have children, so I wasn’t totally surprised. But I was surprised by the speed of it. It happened very quickly.”
