Customers Not Happy About Sign On Front Door. KFC’s Response: Too Bad, It Stays Up

In Gallipolis, Ohio, a paper sign hanging on the door of a Kentucky Fried Chicken Restaurant is getting a lot of attention. And some of it is not good. The sign reads: All Uniformed Police Officers Eat Free Everyday…All Day.

It went viral with more than 6,000 shares. Now, many feel that’s a great gesture to thank all of the police officers who choose to eat at the restaurant. But some think that ALL first responders should be offered the free meals, not just police officers. And at least one officers agrees with that sentiment, saying: “This is a positive post, but some of you can’t see the bigger picture.

As an officer, I do not go into any establishment expecting [or] wanting anything to be free or… even a discount, whether I’m in uniform or not, and I can tell you other officers feel the same way. We don’t like ‘special treatment.’ The fact is that KFC is acknowledging law enforcement, which is why this was posted. To those who stated that other first responders should also be acknowledged. My answer? ABSOLUTELY.” What are your thoughts on the KFC sign?
