“Chinese Nostradamus” issues chilling prediction on U.S-Iran war

A man referred to as the “Chinese Nostradamus” has delivered a chilling warning that suggests Donald Trump “wants to lose his war in Iran” and push the world toward deeper dependence on the United States.

Professor Xueqin Jiang, a Chinese-Canadian educator behind the YouTube channel Predictive History, has gained international attention after several of his geopolitical forecasts appeared to play out in real time.

Jiang has stressed that his analysis is not based on mysticism, but on what he calls a combination of “eschatology, geopolitics, and history” to make what he describes as a “pretty accurate prediction.”

In a video published in May 2024, Jiang predicted Donald Trump would return to power and that conflict with Iran would soon follow.

He also warned the United States would ultimately lose the war, a development he believes could “forever change the global order.”

Now, as tensions remain high despite a temporary ceasefire agreement, Jiang has expanded on his theory in a new lecture that paints an even more unsettling picture of what could come next.

Strait of Hormuz disruptions

Even with assurances of “safe passage” through the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most critical oil routes, uncertainty continues to affect global shipping.

The 24-mile waterway remains largely closed to commercial shipping despite the ceasefire, as Iranian threats and a U.S. blockade of Iranian ports continue to restrict traffic, creating a tanker bottleneck that keeps global oil and gas prices elevated while increasing pressure on all sides to reach a resolution.

According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), “around 25% of the world’s seaborne oil trade” travels through the Strait of Hormuz and “any disruption to flows through the Strait would have huge consequences for world oil markets.”

Ground forces moving in

On April 2, 2026, Jiang warned the situation could deteriorate further despite diplomatic efforts to pause hostilities.

“So, remember, this war in Iran, it’s not ending. In fact, many people believe it’s only starting to ramp up,” he said, adding that military escalation could happen quickly: “There are rumors that Donald Trump has already authorized the use of ground forces and so we could see an invasion of Iran as early as this weekend, but certainly, definitely this month.”

Yet even with momentum building, Jiang believes geography could become one of the biggest obstacles: “If [United States] were to attack from Iraq, they would have to face the mountains…from Pakistan…they would have to face deserts…and from the south…you’re far away from Tehran.”

‘Americans preparing for total war’

Jiang believes current military movements suggest preparation for a prolonged conflict rather than a short-term operation.

“Already we’re seeing lots of signs that America is preparing for a long, long war,” he explained.

He also highlighted reports of expanding military readiness beyond initial deployments: “So not only have they sent 50,000 troops to the Middle East, but they’re preparing to call the reserves as well. So, this seems as though America is preparing for total war.”

‘Elevate strain on global economy’

According to Jiang, strategic control of global energy supply routes may be a central objective behind escalating tensions. “Right now, the consensus seems to be that the Americans first want to control the Strait of Hormuz in order to elevate the strain on the global economy.”

Jiang argued that disruption in Middle Eastern supply routes could shift global reliance toward other major energy producers. “If the Strait of Hormuz is closed… the world is now much more dependent on North America and Russia for oil.”

In fact, Trump’s recent remarks suggest Jiang may not be entirely off in his assessment of the economic pressure at play.

During a prime-time national address on April 1, the 79-year-old president spoke about the pressure facing countries dependent on oil supplies.

“So, to those countries that can’t get fuel, many of which refuse to get involved in the decapitation of Iran, we had to do it ourselves,” Trump said in his televised address. “I have a suggestion. Buy oil from the United States of America. We have plenty. We have so much.”

Trump ‘a complete buffoon’

Jiang has maintained that a full-scale ground invasion of Iran is unlikely to succeed due to geographic and strategic challenges.

“America would lose this war because a ground invasion would fail – the Iranians are fully prepared for a ground invasion.”

He warned the consequences could extend beyond the battlefield, suggesting “the global economy would collapse,” and that the “American empire would die.”

“So clearly Donald Trump is the worst president in human history and he’s a complete buffoon,” Jiang added.

‘What if for some strange reason…’

At the same time, the educator introduced a controversial possibility that the risks of such a conflict could be intentional rather than accidental.

“What if for some strange reason,” Trump wants to tank the global economy and “lose his war in Iran?” Jiang asked

From this perspective, even a failed conflict could reshape global energy dependence.

“So, in other words, the United States starts a stupid war…It can’t possibly win, but it still benefits.”

Jiang also offered a striking conclusion about what such an outcome could mean for Trump’s legacy:

“If the goal was to destroy the American empire, destroy the global economy and rebuild America for the benefit of Americans, then Trump is a genius,” he said, adding, “and he may go down in history as America’s greatest president.”
