Celebrity Chef Michael Chiarello Dies at 61

The Chiarello family is mourning the loss of their patriarch, Michael Chiarello. The beloved celebrity chef and TV host died on Friday (Oct. 6) after spending a week in the hospital receiving treatment for an acute allergic reaction, which led to anaphylactic shock – according to his restaurant group (Gruppo Chiarello).

He was being treated at the Queen of the Valley Medical Center in Napa, California, and was surrounded by friends and family at the time of his passing – he was just 61 years old. Chiarello is remembered for his culinary excellence and ability to bring people from all walks of life together with his passion for cuisine.

“We deeply mourn the loss of our beloved patriarch Michael,” his family wrote in a . “His culinary brilliance, boundless creativity, and unwavering commitment to family were at the core of his being. He brought people together through the joy of shared meals, fostering lasting memories around the table.”
