Carol Burnett Says Not ‘a Moment Goes by’ When She’s Not Thinking of Her Daughter Carrie Who Died 21 Years Ago

Carol Burnett, the legendary comedian, nearing her 90th birthday, carries the enduring memory of her daughter, Carrie Hamilton, who passed away in 2002. Despite her career achievements, Burnett has faced significant loss.

Burnett shared with PEOPLE, “There’s not a day or almost a moment goes by that she’s not with me.” They fondly worked together, even co-writing a play titled “Hollywood Arms.”

Carrie Hamilton, an actress, battled drug addiction and was diagnosed with cancer in 2002, passing away the following year at 38. Burnett vividly recalls visiting her every day during her illness. Carrie’s positive attitude left a lasting impression.

Approaching her 90th birthday, Burnett carries this lesson with her: “I say that to myself every morning.” She understands the fragility of life and the importance of appreciating each day. Her wisdom serves as a reminder to be grateful for what you have today.
