Boeing Secures Record $96 Billion Deal with Qatar Airways Amid Trump’s Middle East Visit

In a landmark agreement announced during President Donald Trump’s visit to Doha, Qatar Airways has committed to purchasing up to 210 Boeing widebody aircraft, marking the largest commercial order in Boeing’s history. Valued at approximately $96 billion at list prices, the deal encompasses 130 Boeing 787 Dreamliners and 30 of the forthcoming 777X models, with options for an additional 50 aircraft.

The signing ceremony, held at Lusail Palace, was attended by President Trump, Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg, and Qatar Airways CEO Badr Mohammed Al-Meer. President Trump hailed the agreement as a significant boost for American manufacturing and job creation.

All aircraft in the order will be powered by engines from GE Aerospace, including the GE9X for the 777X and the GEnx for the 787, marking GE’s largest engine deal to date, according to reports on Reuters.

This deal arrives at a pivotal moment for Boeing, which has faced challenges in recent years due to safety concerns and production delays. The substantial order from Qatar Airways signals renewed confidence in Boeing’s aircraft and is expected to support thousands of jobs within the U.S. aerospace industry.
