It will take you on a breathtaking journey through the Redwood Forest. It would be one of the best ways to spend your free time, right?

Many people are appreciating the famous Redwoods as they can now ride an electric railbike while strolling the beautiful gift of nature.

The two-person pedal-operated electrical railbike sits on the old Skunk Train tracks.

It’s an unbelievably easy ride.

If you go to this beautiful sanctuary, you can ride your two-person railbike that will depart from the old Skunk Train Depot in Fort Bragg.

Then, the one-hour round-trip will bring you through the beautiful Redwood Forest located along the Pudding Creek Estuary.

As you pedal your way through the majestic forest, you’ll realize how beautiful and well-preserved it is.

It’s the very definition of ‘enchanting’.

“The Redwood forest is a dreamlike place, particularly on a rainy or misty day, it’s like a scene from Jurassic Park,” said Robert Jason Pinoli in his interview with Bored Panda.

Pinoli is called the “Chief Skunk” at Skunk Train.
He also said that while pedaling through the forest, you can’t help but think that there might be a brontosaurus just around your corner.

Many people might ask, why would they call their staff “Chief Skunk”, and their train station as Skunk Train?

The Skunk Train has been around for many decades.

It has been operating since 1885.
And can you believe that some of the trees that you’ll see on this trail are over a thousand years old?

Thanks to the efforts of the locals and other volunteers, they were able to preserve the beautiful forest that we get to enjoy today.

Many who do not know the history of the Skunk Train are wondering about its name, but there’s a reason behind it.

It was nicknamed “Skunk Train” in 1925.

These vehicles had gasoline-powered engines, and they also had pot-bellied stoves. Inside was burning crude oil that give warmth to the passengers.

The combination of the emitted fumes resulted in a very foul odor that people disliked.

Thus, people started calling it Skunk trains, comparing the smell to skunks.

As you start your tour, you’ll be amazed to know that this beautiful forest still exists. The fresh air and the abundance of trees are truly a relaxing experience.

The rail bikes leave in small groups.
Once you’ve started your tour, you don’t have to worry about anything since a guide will be leading the way.

The railbikes are also owned and operated by the Skunk Train company, so you don’t have to worry about any disruptions on your tour.

Have kids or mobility challenges?
Don’t worry because they have thought about that too. The railbikes are really easy to operate.

Even if you have kids or people with mobility issues, you won’t have to worry.

You’ll get to hear lots of stories, see animals, and even have a small picnic.

It’s truly a magical experience.

You’d surely come back for more once you have experienced this majestic tour.
