Anthony Guidera, the American actor best remembered for his role in The Godfather Part III, has died at the age of 65. His family confirmed the sad news after the actor spent several weeks on life support following a sudden medical emergency at his Southern California home.

According to reports, Guidera collapsed at home on May 11 after his heart suddenly stopped. His wife, Valarie, said he was rushed to the hospital and placed on life support for about three weeks. Doctors were reportedly unable to determine what caused the cardiac arrest.
In keeping with his previously stated wishes, Guidera was later taken off life support and brought home, where he died on Saturday, June 6, 2026. Valarie, who shared one son with him, Nick, said the family was devastated by the sudden loss
Valarie also shared a tribute on Facebook, saying the family was heartbroken to say goodbye to their beloved Anthony. She asked others to keep his memory and their family in their thoughts during an extremely difficult time.

Guidera began his acting career in 1990 with The Godfather Part III, playing a bodyguard named Anthony in Francis Ford Coppola’s final installment of the famous crime saga. That role marked the start of a screen career that included nearly 30 film and television credits.
He later appeared in several well-known 1990s films, including Species, The Rock, The Postman, Armageddon, and The Annihilation of Fish. He also made appearances on television shows such as Baywatch, ER, and other series.
