Melania Trump shares intimate phone call with Donald in first film trailer

A year ago, Melania Trump announced that she would have a documentary film made. Now that the trailer is out, it gives an insight into her rather busy life. Also, a new, never-before-seen video of her speaking privately with her husband, Donald Trump, on the phone is shown. And it speaks volumes.

Weeks before Donald Trump was to be sworn in as President of the United States for the second time, his wife, First Lady Melania Trump, announced news of what she is working on.

She announced the plans for a documentary about herself, with the theatre release date set for January 30, 2026.

In addition to the documentary, a follow-up series was reportedly being produced. As reported in early 2025, three people familiar with the deal said it’s worth $40 million in licensing fees. The project began filming in December 2024 and was initially scheduled for theatrical release and streaming in the second half of 2025. Now, it’s arriving in late January.

“Prime Video will be sharing more details on the project as filming progresses and release plans are finalized,” Amazon said in a statement. “We are excited to share this truly unique story with our millions of customers around the world.”

Melania Trump documentary film trailer released

Melania appeared on Fox & Friends in January to discuss the project. She explained that her memoir was “such a success” that she felt people would love to hear more from her.

“So I had an idea to make a movie, to make a film about my life. My life is incredible. It’s incredibly busy and I told my agent I have this idea so please go out and make a deal for me. We started the production in November and we are shooting right now. So it’s a day-to-day life. What I’m doing, what kind of responsibilities I have, people they don’t really know and they will see it,” Melania told Fox.

In later months, it’s been very quiet around Melania and her documentary. Questions about whether it would be released were raised. But on Wednesday, fans saw the trailer for the first time.

The documentary, titled Melania, follows the first lady over 20 days leading up to the 2025 inauguration. It offers “unprecedented access” and promises “exclusive footage capturing critical meetings, private conversations, and never-before-seen environments.”

Intimate private phone call with Donald

The documentary’s tagline reads, “Witness history in the making,” and the trailer has been released. It follows Melania in her “usual,” elements, ascending the stairs to her private jet, business meetings in Florida and New York, and of course, a stunning shot of her white-and-black inaugural ball gown.

Moreover, behind-the-scenes footage captured more intimate moments, including family time with Barron and her father.

However, the trailer’s perhaps most interesting moment is the one when she calls her husband, Donald Trump. She made the call from the penthouse in Trump Tower, revealing how they speak when in private.

“Hi, Mr President,” Melania says. “Congratulations.”

“Did you watch it?” Trump enthusiastically responded

“I did not. Yeah, I will see it on the news,” Melania replied.
