Hollywood Legend’s Daughter Remembered For Her Kind Heart

Actress and philanthropist Susan Kendall Newman, daughter of Paul Newman and his first wife Jackie Witte, has passed away at age 72. The New York Times reported that she died on August 2 from complications related to chronic health conditions.

Susan Kendall Newman was born in 1952 in New York City. She was known for her work in film and television and for her deep commitment to social causes. As the daughter of legendary actor Paul Newman, she grew up around Hollywood but made her own path in the industry.

She appeared in television movies and independent projects during the 1970s and 1980s, including Slap Shot, A Wedding, and I Want to Keep My Baby!. Later, she turned her focus to directing and producing, often working on documentaries and socially conscious projects.

Influenced by her father’s values, Susan dedicated much of her life to advocacy and charity. She worked with groups that supported child welfare, homelessness, and addiction recovery. She also served on several nonprofit boards that promoted the arts and community development.

In her later years, Susan shifted her attention to public health and education causes. She continued to raise awareness and funding for organizations that made a real difference. Even with her famous name, she preferred to live quietly, focusing on helping others rather than staying in the public eye.
