During his visit to Japan this week, Donald Trump has been accused of violating “protocol” twice.

Yesterday (October 28), the 79-year-old US president met with Sanae Takaichi, the nation’s recently elected prime minister, who entered office just one week ago.

The second stop on Trump’s week-long Asian journey was Japan. He left today for South Korea, where he is scheduled to see Chinese leader Xi Jinping tomorrow, October 30.

Additionally, he was in Malaysia on Sunday, October 26, for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations’ (ASEAN) annual meeting.

Shortly after arriving in Kuala Lumpur for the day’s events, Trump disembarked from Air Force One and started dancing, causing him to go viral on social media.

Additionally, videos of his time in Japan have been appearing online, which has caused quite a commotion once more.

During a welcoming ceremony in Tokyo, Takaichi gave Trump a tour, and in one video that has gone viral on social media, Trump appeared to stray off.

The Republican leader seemed to strangely abandon the Japanese prime minister and begin wandering off in a different direction as he passed through a room full of dignitaries.

Other spectators, meanwhile, noted that he was carelessly saluting at inappropriate periods at another point throughout the contest.

One Twitter user brutally penned: “What a f**king joke. The USA is a f**king JOKE at this point. Trump is confused, saluting when he didn’t need to do so, and having to be shown the right way to walk by the PM of Japan.

“Does he even know where he’s at?”

A second commented: “Trump confused, saluting when he wasn’t supposed to, and had to be shown the right way to walk by the PM of Japan.”

While a third said: “Trump wanders around aimlessly and oddly salutes for no apparent reason.”

Someone else penned: “Clueless Trump didn’t realise he was supposed to stop in front of the US & Japanese flags. Prime Minister Takaichi seemed confused that Trump kept walking, and then followed proper protocol and bowed in front of the flags.”

In exchange, the world leader stated Japan would provide fireworks from the Akita Prefecture for the July 4 celebrations and 250 cherry trees for Washington, DC, to commemorate America’s 250th anniversary the following year.

Trump called her role as Japan’s first woman prime minister a ‘big deal’, adding: “Anything I can do to help Japan, we will be there. We are an ally at the strongest level.”
