Alleged couple secretly moved out while 12-Year-old was at school

A mother, along with her boyfriend, has been arrested after being accused of child abandonment. The couple allegedly moved out of their home while the child was at school, not informing him of their decision.

Erica Renee Sanders and Kevin Dwayne Adams from Texas are in a predicament after they have been caught in a strange situation.

The couple allegedly moved out of their apartment while their 12-year-old was at school. The pair removed several items from their apartment without informing the child beforehand.

According to reports, the couple has now been arrested and charged with child abandonment and endangering a child without the intent to return.

Law enforcement was alerted to the event by the child’s principal. The Copperas Cove Police Department responded to the situation last week, soon after getting the report.

When officials spoke to the child, they learned that he had no knowledge of the plans to move and told the officers that the furniture and other items in the apartment had been there when he left for school that morning.

Officers later confirmed that this version of events lined u,p and as of the report, the home was ‘empty and completely barren’.

Neighbors reported that the couple had a history of kicking the child out of the home.

The child shared that the couple had informed him that they intend to move out at some point, but had not provided details beyond that.

Adams was taken into police custody and argued against the child’s report, saying that his girlfriend had not ‘abandoned’ her son.

He said that ‘she was living with him now and [her son] was not welcome in his home’.

The mother alleged that her brother, the boy’s uncle, was supposed to pick him up after school. However, she did not provide any contact information for him, which would have helped confirm her claims.

Adams contradicted the claim, sharing that he was supposed to pick the child up and deliver him to his uncle.

However, the child had been left alone after school for several hours, with no attempts made to ensure his well-being.

When authorities were finally able to contact the child’s uncle, he reportedly said he had no idea he was meant to pick the child up, as nothing of the sort had been communicated to him.

Child Protective Services stepped in and took the child and later released him to Adams’ custody.

Adams took custody of the child at 9.30 pm on the same day, but was later arrested along with her boyfriend, Sanders.

The child was eventually left in his uncle’s custody.
