Veteran Tries To Sell His Car To Buy ‘His’ Dogs Back, But A Woman Made Him Cry

James Pack, a Vietnam veteran, faced an incredibly tough time after suffering a heart attack that left him in critical condition. While James was in the hospital fighting for his life, his two beloved dogs, Bailey and Blaze, were placed in the care of the First State Animal Center and SPCA. The shelter, located within a PetSmart store in Newark, Delaware, intended to look after his dogs until he could recover.

Unfortunately, James’s recovery took longer than expected. When he finally left the hospital and rushed to the shelter to be reunited with Bailey and Blaze, he was met with heartbreaking news. According to the shelter’s policy, the dogs had been put up for adoption during his long absence. Although both dogs were still available for adoption, James found himself unable to afford the $250 adoption fee.

James had already lost most of his savings due to medical bills, leaving him without the funds to bring his dogs home. Desperate to be with his dogs again, James made the difficult decision to sell his car in order to raise the money.

However, the shelter staff, upon learning about James’s situation, decided to take matters into their own hands. Each staff member contributed $5 to $10 until they had raised enough money to cover the adoption fees for Bailey and Blaze. What happened next was a heartwarming moment of kindness and compassion.

As seen in the video below, James arrives at the shelter, unaware of the surprise waiting for him. As a staff member reveals the incredible gesture made by the shelter team, James is overwhelmed with emotion, his voice shaking with gratitude. His tearful reunion with Bailey and Blaze is a powerful reminder of the goodness that exists in people and the unbreakable bond between a man and his dogs.
