We won’t be seeing any more of Dr. Phil

For 21 years, Phil McGraw, or better known as Dr. Phil, has attracted millions of viewers.

Being one of the most famous TV show hosts and someone whose life goal is helping others makes Dr P.hil a one-of-a-kind celebrity.

He started his career when he offered his valuable advice to ordinary people on The Oprah Winfrey Show. In fact, it was Oprah who taught him a lot about what it truly takes to be successful in the world of show business. “I often say I’m the first graduate from Oprah University, and that’s a pretty great place to learn how to do television,” our favorite doctor says.

At the moment, his show is the second most-watched talk show, with an estimated 2 million people tuning in each episode on average.

Unfortunately, many of his fans got worried after the famous doctor released a statement saying this season would be the final of Dr. Phil.

Through the 2023-24 season, networks are expected to continue airing reruns.

“With this show, we have helped thousands of guests and millions of viewers through everything from addiction and marriage to mental wellness and raising children. This has been an incredible chapter of my life and career, but while I’m moving on from daytime, there is so much more I wish to do,” Dr. Phil’s statement read.

The fans, however, can rest assured that the most famous TV doctor isn’t going anywhere. What’s most, it has been reported that he is in talks with CBS and will be focusing his efforts on a ‘strategic primetime partnership’ that will help him engage with a much larger audience.

At this point, not much is known about his new project, but what is revealed is that Dr. Phil would be continue hosting his podcasts, Phil in the Blanks and Mystery & Murder: Analysis by Dr. Phil.

Following the decision to end the famous talk show after over two decades, CBS Media Venture’s Steve LoCascio issued a statement as well. “Phil is a valued partner and member of the CBS/King World family, and while his show may be ending after 21 years, I’m happy to say our relationship is not,” he said.

“Phil changed the daytime landscape as the force behind one of the most popular talk shows ever on daytime TV. We plan to be in the Dr. Phil business with the library for years to come and welcome opportunities to work together in the future,” the statement further read.
