My boyfriend Zach and I recently moved into a peaceful neighborhood next to Sarah, a single mom with two boys. Initially, Sarah seemed friendly, but one sunny afternoon everything changed when her boys began spraying water guns over our fence into our garden. Despite Zach and me asking them to stop and even talking to Sarah, the boys continued soaking our plants, furniture, and us. Sarah didn’t seem too concerned and refused to discipline her kids, insisting it was harmless fun.
Feeling frustrated, I tried speaking to Sarah myself, but she brushed off my worries and said I was overreacting. Feeling stuck, Zach and I decided to ignore the issue for a while, even though the water damage to our garden was annoying. Then, I came up with a plan to invite the whole neighborhood to a garden party — secretly organizing a water gun fight to subtly teach Sarah a lesson. When Sarah arrived dressed up, her boys immediately drenched her with water, leaving her surprised and embarrassed.
