When Son Keeps Asking For 2 Packed Lunches, Mother ReaIizes He Gives One Of Them To A Hungry Boy

Many parents pack their lunches for their school-aged children. Whether it is because school lunches are not as nutritious as a packed lunch or because it is simply a cheaper solution, some parents have gotten into the routine of putting together sandwiches, fruit and veggies, drinks, and other goodies to send off with their kids.

Duran, who lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico, is one such mother. She packs two lunches every day for her household. However, she only has one son, Dylan. So why does she go through the trouble of packing two lunches for one kid? The reason may surprise you after you read it, but you will probably also be left in tears!

Dylan was taking one lunch for himself and the other for a friend. When Josette figured out what he was doing, she posted the conversation she had with her son on Social Media.

The mother posted that Dylan had asked her to make two lunches one day. Josette then asked him if he wasn’t getting full from his first lunch. Dylan responded that yes, he was getting full, but that the second lunch was actually for another kid. He told his mother that the young boy only brought a fruit cup for lunch every single day. He didn’t think he had enough cash to buy lunch at the school, either.

Josette ended up learning just what was going on with the little boy and his family. She said that the truth hit close to home, as she had experienced homelessness for a while herself. She stated that she and Dylan had lived in their car before and washed up in public bathrooms. She also knew what it was like to not have enough food to eat.

She began to get into a habit of packing two lunches every single day, one for her son and one for his classmate. Soon, the mother of the little boy figured out what was going on. That is when Josette got a call from the school, asking her to come in.
