Within a short period of time, President Trump
started signing a plethora of executive orders that were intended to restructure
American institutions and exert his authority over the federal government.
On Monday, he signed a comprehensive order
that temporarily halted all federal grant and loan disbursements by the federal government.
This action has the potential to impact a variety
of services for millions of people all around the country.
It was planned that the order would go into force on Tuesday.
Over the past week, he has also granted pardons or commuted sentences to hundreds
of his supporters who were convicted with participating in the riot that occurred at the
United States Capitol on January 6, 2021.
This has prompted criticism from law
enforcement officers who defended the Capitol from the crowd.
