Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky recently addressed tensions with U.S. leaders, particularly Vice President J.D. Vance, who criticized him for not thanking America during his visit. Zelensky took to X, expressing gratitude for U.S. support: “Thank you, America… for your support, @POTUS, Congress, and the American people.”
His remarks aimed to reaffirm Ukraine’s appreciation amid growing debates in Washington about U.S. involvement. Zelensky also emphasized the importance of honest communication between Ukraine and the U.S. while remaining firm that peace with Russia must come from a position of strength.
Zelensky rejected suggestions to apologize to former President Trump, expressing respect for him and the American people. He also stated that Ukraine’s future leadership would be decided by its people, not foreign influence, and reiterated that NATO membership would offer the best security guarantee for Ukraine. Despite challenges, Zelensky is committed to maintaining strong U.S. ties and continuing Ukraine’s fight for sovereignty.
