Scattered Items Near Betsy Arakawa’s Body Spark Speculation—What Investigators Found

Authorities have revealed new details surrounding the death of Betsy Arakawa, 63, wife of actor Gene Hackman, prompting public speculation. Investigators discovered puzzling elements at the scene, including an open pill bottle with pills scattered nearby.

A Santa Fe detective found three dogs at the property: one loose, another near Arakawa’s body, and the third dead in a bathroom closet. Authorities also observed that a heater had been moved, and Arakawa’s 95-year-old husband was found dead in a separate room. No immediate signs of a gas leak were reported.
