Oscar winner Gene Hackman and wife found dead in Santa Fe home

Gene Hackman, the two-time Oscar-winning actor, and his wife, Betsy Arakawa,

were found dead in their $3.8 million Santa Fe home.

The couple, married since 1991, were discovered Wednesday morning alongside their dog.

Authorities have not determined the time or cause of death, though no foul play is suspected.Hackman,

widely regarded as one of Hollywood’s greatest actors, starred in over 70 films,

winning Oscars for The French Connection and Unforgiven.

He retired from acting 20 years ago, focusing on fishing, painting, and writing.

Tributes poured in, with Star Trek actor George Takei calling him “one of the true giants of the screen.

” Hackman was 95; Arakawa was 63.
