Despite the overwhelming circumstances, the actor remained committed to being by his family’s side. His dedication led him to put his acting career on hold indefinitely.

In 2021, Gary and his family decided to relocate. After decades of living in California and enjoying much success on the Hollywood acting scene, they decided it was time for a change.

In April 2022, Gary revealed during his appearance on Fox News that the move was a “family decision” after years in the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles. Gary shared that he began looking into states that might offer a better pace of life for his family.

In September 2024, Gary reflected on his life in Tennessee during an interview. When asked how the state was treating him, he didn’t hesitate to express his gratitude, “I’m glad to be here. I love it. I love the state.”
