Candace Cima, a 76-year-old grandmother and style influencer, recently faced criticism after sharing a photo of herself in a sleeveless dress on social media.
Despite the backlash, she remains undeterred, telling TODAY, “It’s not the first time this has happened, but this one surprised me. People have such outdated notions about age-appropriate fashion, and that needs to change.” Cima, who began her fashion blog in 2019 to fill a gap she saw for representing older women in fashion, encourages embracing aging with confidence.

“It’s perfectly appropriate to have wrinkled skin at 76, and I’m not ashamed of it,” she asserts, challenging the stereotypes that dictate how older women should dress. Her message to her followers, young and old, is clear: “Aging is great.

Everything you have learned your entire life is now there for you…Embrace it and be proud.” Despite criticism, Cima’s stance represents a call to redefine beauty standards and age-appropriate attire, proving style knows no age.
