An unfortunate incident took place after an influencer reportedly fell from a building and died. The husband of the influencer has been arrested on suspicion of femicide.

A Brazilian influencer named Maria Katiane Gomes da Silva, who was 25 years old, sadly died after she fell from a 10th-floor high-rise apartment building in São Paulo, Brazil.

The 25-year-old’s body was found outside the complex after neighbors heard loud screaming and called the police.

Local news reported that her husband, Alex Leandro Bispo dos Santos, a businessman, was arrested with a temporary warrant. Authorities are reporting a possible femicide.

The 40-year-old is suspected of pushing the 25-year-old content creator from the residence they lived in together.

Maria, who was the mother of one child, was allegedly heard screaming by neighbors who called emergency services and authorities.

When authorities arrived at the scene, Santos was found hugging the Maria’s body. He told them she had taken her own life in her argument.

The authorities became suspicious when it came to determining the cause of death. An investigation was launched by the Homicide and Personal Protection Department into the case.

Santos’ testimony allegedly contradicted the security footage they found, where he was seen attacking her.

In the footage, there is an altercation that is seen in an elevator where the late young woman is seen to be pulled out of the room after Santos appears to grab her by her neck.

Santos could be seen looking upset and sitting with his head in his hands.

A week before his arrest, he reportedly attended Silva’s funeral. The witnesses hugged the coffin, according to some eyewitnesses.

The late young content creator had over 6,000 followers on Instagram and over 22,000 on TikTok, where she shared beauty, makeup, and lifestyle-related content.

“She can no longer speak because her voice was silenced by a man who claimed to love her,” her aunt reportedly wrote on social media.

“Today, as her aunt, my heart is heavy, filled with indignation and so is her mother and our entire family. It went on and said, “We demand justice for Katiane Gomes.”

Silva was born in north-east Brazil, in the district of Crateús, according to local Brazilian outlets.

She worked before at a restaurant and a supermarket before she went to São Paulo where she met and married Santos.

The case is still being investigated by authorities as they assess the footage and phone records, as well as witness statements. Whether Silva’s death was accidental or caused by someone is still being deliberated.

No one has been charged with the murder as of yet.
